The RIFT Group was founded in 1999, with a strong focus on helping people claim tax refunds. Since then, we've expanded into many other areas, and earned a reputation as the UK's leading tax refund experts.

RIFT Tax Refunds, our first established and largest division, has helped more than 63,000 people reclaim money owed by HMRC, but we also work with businesses and partners of all sizes through our other divisions.

RIFT Accounting offers a comprehensive service that supports the growth and development of our clients’ small businesses.

RIFT Research and Development helps innovative companies tap into valuable government tax relief schemes. Its VGTR (Video Games Tax Relief) specialist team helps businesses in a fast-moving industry access specialist tax relief.

RIFT Legal Services was created in response to complex and changing legislation. It helps businesses protect themselves against employment status challenges.

Our Philosophy

Far too many individuals and businesses are missing out on the money they're owed by HMRC. Some of them find the rules and systems too daunting and complicated. Others simply don't know that they qualify.

The spur for the original RIFT Tax Refunds service came when Chairman Jan Post saw an older construction worker carrying a jacket potato back to his caravan across a muddy site one day. She was struck by how hard this man was working, and yet how much he was struggling financially. Knowing that the majority of the workers on the site had travelled many miles to earn their living, Jan was determined to help this man and others like him by claiming back the tax money they were owed.

Over the years, we’ve expanded continuously and moved into different sectors. Still, our core reason for existing is to give our customers the best advice, guidance and practical help we can. We continue to work closely with HMRC to put tax refunds back into people’s pockets, but we also do much more.

From supporting innovative companies through R&D tax relief to our full-service RIFT Accounting division for small businesses, we always put our clients’ needs first. The RIFT Group is above all a family, and our clients are always a part of that. That’s why we score so highly for customer service, and why we keep working so hard to make business personal.

At the heart of RIFT is a friendly, close-knit team. Each member of our team is here not only because they're incredibly talented - but because they love what they do and believe in helping our customers.

Chairman

Jan established the company in 1999 to specialise in tax advice and refunds. She holds a number of other directorships and is very active in the charity sector.

Jan has always been a passionate champion of individuals and small businesses. From a family of entrepreneurs she's always fought for what she believes is right for her customers and her business.

Jan has been listed as one of the 40 most influential business leaders in Kent and has won numerous awards, including Woman of the Year in Construction and Business Woman of the Year

Bradley Post

Bradley Post

Managing Director

Bradley has been with the RIFT Group since 2010, covering a variety of roles during that time including Sales and Marketing Director, and most recently Commerical Director since 2014, helping RIFT to diversify into new markets and services and leading the development of new systems and structures.

Prior to joining RIFT Group, Bradley spent 10 years at Accenture as a Management Consultant where he worked extensively with a variety of Blue Chip organisations on major business and system transformation projects ranging from CRM Implementations, Business Analysis, Project & Programme Delivery Management, and Test Management.

Dermot Kennedy

Finance Director

Dermot has over 25 years' experience in accountancy and finance in businesses all over the world.

Prior to joining RIFT Group, Dermot was based in London for Virgin Group and Australia for Parbury plc. He was Financial Controller for one of Ireland's largest recruitment companies and responsible for its successful floatation on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM).

Dermot has also run his own successful restaurant and a bespoke consultancy offering companies the benefits of a Virtual Finance Director.

Marketing Director

Jane joined the RIFT Group in 2012 as Marketing Manager to establish and build an in-house marketing function. With strategic responsibility for marketing and commercial functions within the business, Jane has a proven track record of creatively delivering excellent top-line results and building the RIFT Group brand in new and existing markets.

Prior to joining the RIFT Group, Jane spent over 10 years in marketing agencies where she headed up branding, marketing and PR projects for blue chip clients across multiple platforms and channels, resulting in a unique combination of client and agency-side experience.

Kieran Brogan

Operations Director

Kieran was a founding member of the RIFT Group and has been at Jan Post’s side since the very beginning. Always hands-on, Kieran has worked in every department as it was created until it was running smoothly, giving him unrivalled knowledge and understanding of every aspect of the business.

As Group Operations Director, Kieran has daily responsibility for Operations, Specialist Tax Refunds and Returns Teams, Admin and IT. Kieran has built up a centre of operational excellence within RIFT.

Directing and co-ordinating the internal structure of the organisation, development of policies, goals, and objectives, Kieran works closely with employees to create and develop an efficient and well-motivated working environment that provides the best service and support to our customers and drives company growth.

The Lighthouse Club

The Lighthouse Club

The Lighthouse Club was founded to help construction workers and their families cope when illness, injury or bereavement cause financial difficulties. The charity operates 22 regional clubs in the UK, which are run by volunteers. The Lighthouse Club gives emergency financial aid to help people through times of poverty. They also give advice to the construction community on things like occupational health and understanding the benefits system.

ABF The Soldiers Charity

ABF The Soldiers' Charity

For 70 years, ABF The Soldiers’ Charity has been giving financial assistance to serving and retired soldiers and their families. Formerly known as the Army Benevolent Fund, they’re here to support soldiers in need throughout their lives. The charity helps families cope following bereavement, provides home modifications for disabled soldiers and so much more. The Soldiers’ Charity also gives money to other charities with specialist expertise.

RIFT is proud to fight for those who fight for us. Every time an MOD employee clams a refund through us, we donate a portion of our fee to The Soldiers' Charity.
